Geneva, Switzerland

Good evening from Geneva! I supposed to be in Vietnam, but they changed my flight on Saturday morning to 48 hours in Geneva! This is not usual, normally this layover lasts for 24 hours, but Im a lucky girl :-)) Im coming back to Dubai with another crew.

Geneva is known as a layover with the highest allowances ever and Im so happy I got a chance to go there. I save pretty much money so I will change it in Dubai :-)) We arrived yesterday around 15:00 and at 16:00 we took the free bus to the city centre (photos in the next post from Dubai, I dont have my laptop here).

We walked around the city, ate banana-nutella crepes and later we had a dinner at some Malaysian restaurant. Today I am relaxing and enjoying swiss day off, I spent some time at swimming pool, jaccuzzi and sauna and then I took the bus to the city centre for lunch and coffee in Starbucks.

Tomorrow afternoon I am coming back to Dubai finally, I miss Dubai weather so much here!! :-)) And you can look forward to amazing pictures from Geneva, Im gonna upload them on the 1st of May, which is actually big day because Im celebrating 3 months in Dubai, 1 month of flying and 1 year being single haha :-)) Many reasons to get drunk :-)))

Questions & Answers 1

1. Do you think that the company will still be recruiting in 2019 with the same frequency that it does right now? I think so. Why not. Crew still come and go and because of that they will still need new joiners.

2. How expensive is life in Dubai? Dubai is expensive city, similar to NYC, Tokyo or London. What makes the difference is the fact that your accommodation, as well as all the utilities and transportation to and from work is provided by the airline. Your only costs will be mobile phone, internet and food. And on layovers you will get extra pocket money, called allowances, so you don´t have to spend your money there :-))

3. How many types of accommodation is there for cabin crew? Nowadays there are about 31 buildings for Emirates cabin crew in Dubai. Every building has swimming pool and gym, free for cabin crew. Some of them are located in centre of Dubai, some of them are situated near the airport... It depends on your luck :-)) Names of some buildings: Pink building, Al Hai building, Millennium Tower, Union Property Tower, 21 century Tower, Sahara Tower...

4. Tips about what to dress up. Business attire for sure! For girls knee-lenght skirt and jacket (usually black or grey colour), white blouse, black high heels, beige stockings. And dont forget the golden rule - SMILE! :-)))

5. How many days off and days of vacations do you have? We have 30 days of vacation per year and about 10 days off every month. And dont forget free days on layovers :-))

6. In what countries have you been in work so far what was your favourite one? I´ve been to Mauritius, France (Paris), Melbourne, Singapore and UK (London) so far this month and the winner is Singapore for sure!!! And tomorrow I´m going to Geneva (Switzerland) so I can´t wait!

7. How old are you? I´m 22, still one of the youngest here and everyone here calls me baby because of my age :-))

8. Can you have pets in cabin crew accommodation? Yes you can. But you have to consider the fact that you will be sharing an apartment with somebody else. This person may be allergic to cats or simply not an animal person. Both flatmates have to agree when keeping a house pet. And of course pets are limited to small animals that wont make noise and disturb the rest of the crew population. But cats and small dogs are fine :-)) But dont forget that sometimes you will be away from home for couple of days... :-))

9. Do you think I will have a disadvantage comparing to others because I never had any experience or jobs? Look at me!! I just finished my bachelor´s degree in June 2012 and went to Open day in October! Don´t worry, you won´t be the only one without job experience, trust me. Just be honest to them. And put all your fluent languages to your CV.

10. Why did you wanted to join Emirates? I always wanted to do this job because I love travelling and why Emirates? Because they are one of the best! And my best friend works here :-))

To be continued... when I come back from Geneva (maybe from Geneva, because I have 48 hours layover there) ) Thanks for reading and good night!

Singapore - Day 2

Singapore - Day 1

Singapore. Honestly I can say the best layover of April 2013. We spent amazing 2 days there - the first day in Universal Studios and the second day I did the best shopping ever in Bugis (like Bangkok style shopping).

The weather was nice - more than 33 degrees, crew was great and actually I miss them now, because I just came back from London this morning and that crew wasn´t good at all...

In Singapore you can also find one of the most amazing swimming pools in the world, just check my photos from the next post (Singapore - Day 2) and you´ll see! I´d like to take my parents there for a holiday and I hope I will come back to the Singapore soon! :-))

Melbourne, Australia

Yesterday I came back from amazing trip - Singapore - Melbourne - Singapore. Six amazing days with great people, nice weather, the best shopping and fun! Almost 30 flying hours in those 6 days, the worst turbulence I´ve ever experienced but still I can say one of the best flights I´ve ever had so far :-))

Let´s start with Melbourne. We arrived in the morning and stayed in Hilton Hotel, pretty close to the tram stop. After 2 hours rest we took this City Circle Tram which is free and went to the Melbourne Harbour. Great shopping and delicious food there. In the evening we had some drinks in the centre of Melbourne and the next day I just walk around the city, the sun was shining so it was the best time for a walk.

I hope I´ll get a flight to Australia soon! I have a flight to London tomorrow, so when I came back I´ll write a post from amazing Singapore and London as well.

Paris, France

Today I came back from lovely Paris. I always dreamed about it because I´ve never been there and now my next dream came true :-)) So when I heard I was going to Paris I was really excited!!

Our hotel was very nice, quite far from the city but we took the hotel bus to the centre. Than we took pictures at the Louvre, then moved on to Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame for amazing lunch and crepes!

I was worried about the weather there because I dont have any winter jacket here in Dubai, but the weather was actually very nice and sun was shining all day so my leather jacket was good enough.

It was my first flight on double decker A380 - almost 400 passengers in economy, so pretty much busy... Definitely I prefer Boeing flights! Fortunately it was my first and last A380 flight this month :-))

Tomorrow I have a turnaround flight to India, then I have 3 days off and on Saturday I am going to 6days trip to Singapore and Melbourne!!! I am sure it´s gonna be amazing and I cant wait! :-))

Enjoy photos and thank you for reading!!! xxx
